Why Project Management?

Any construction project will include elements of risk and uncertainty, which can never be foreseen with absolute accuracy. However through tight and professional project management it is possible to manage risk and uncertainty by attempting to predict potential problems which may occur. This is achieved through planning, co-ordination coupled with organisation, and control of the complex and diverse tasks that are required to realise the completion of a construction project from the initial conceptual stage.

Only through project management can a project’s requirements in terms of time, cost and quality/performance be achieved.

For effective project management, in addition to a generic understanding, it is essential that the project management team be experienced in the form of construction to be undertaken. This is to ensue there wherever possible there is a full appreciation of project specific issues.
